Fellows will participate in workshops, volunteer opportunities, and events like the Teen Town Hall, gaining skills to advance a career of service.
The Pima College Access Network welcomes returning and new applicants. Here's the criteria and benefits:
Open to high school juniors, seniors and undergraduate students. Limited to 10 participants. Must complete 75 service hours, including a minimum of 40 hours with PCAN. Awarded a $300 Vantage West education award upon successful completion, with the possibility of an increase as funds are made available.
Open to any high school or undergraduate student. No limit on the number of participants. Must complete 55 service hours, including a minimum of 40 hours with PCAN. No education grant is provided.
In addition to the benefits afforded to each Fellowship tier, all participants will receive recognitions and commendations from elected officials at the federal, state and local level. Additionally, a set of top-performing will be acknowledged at the May 6, 2025, Empower(ED) Awards.
Training, Team Building & Volunteering
Gain skills in public speaking, financial literacy, and servant leadership among workshops, and engage in volunteer and social activities.
Teen Town Hall Facilitation & Presentation
Lead discussions and assist in the event’s success; present findings to federal, state, and local leaders, including a trip to the Arizona State Capitol.
Community Organizing & Capacity Building
Contribute to at least three impactful projects bringing recognition to causes, issues, or undertakings within the community related to education.
Government & Corporate Engagement
Meet and engage elected and appointed officials and their staff, at every level of government, in addition to corporate and community leaders.
Merging educational sessions with practical experiences participants will enhance their understanding of civic engagement beyond electoral ambitions, focusing on substantive insights from the Teen Town Hall to inform their advocacy and action.
