Join our 30th Tucson Metro Teen Town Hall

Starting in 1992, the Metro Education Commission has brought high school seniors and officials together, to partake in meaningful dialogue on topics that matter most to them, and engage with colleges and community organizations

On November 13, 2024, the Teen Town Hall will offer a unique blend of civic education and youth advocacy at the Pima County Historic Courthouse

The Pima College Access Network welcomes select schools, community agencies, and colleges and universities to join us!

  • 8:45 AM – 9:00 AM: Bus Arrival & Check-In

    9:00 AM – 9:30 AM: Snacks, Community Tabling

    9:40 AM – 10:05 AM: Opening Remarks

    10:15 AM – 11:45 AM: Dialogue Circles

    11:45 AM – 12:30 PM: Lunch & CollegeTabling

    12:45 PM – 1:25 PM: Panel of Elected Officials

    1:25 PM – 1:45 PM: Circle Readouts, Closing

    1:45 PM – 2:00 PM: School Send-Off

  • The Teen Town Hall will be located at the Pima County Historical Courthouse, 115 N Church Ave, Tucson, AZ 85701.  Loading zones are available to accommodate parties that travel by bus, along W Alameda St, N Stone Ave, and W Pennington St. Parking garages are available to those that travel by van or car in the El Presidio and Main Library Garage. Garage parking is at the expense of your party.

  • Upon arrival, student attendees will be asked whether they have both applied for a post-secondary pathway and been admitted. Those whom confirm both will enter a raffle for a chance to win a Vantage West $1,000 education award toward their post-secondary journey.

  • Upon arrival, student attendees will be asked whether they have both applied for a post-secondary pathway and been admitted. Those whom confirm both will enter a raffle for a chance to win a Education Forward Arizona $500 education award toward their post-secondary journey.

This occasion aims to inspire engaged young people across Tucson and the greater Pima County. Attendees will hear remarks from officials; join discussions on important topics such as mental health, substance misuse, climate change, college access, and in-equity in education, among others; and engage with state and local officials through a panel and Q&A focused on community service.

 

Additionally, they will explore resources and opportunities from local organizations, colleges, and universities, and leave with pocket-sized copies of the U.S. and Arizona Constitutions.
